Creative Technology, Inc office on a full time basis Current Activities include: Turnkey supply of transportation systems, transportation related consulting services, risk assessment of operating people moving systems, system modernization and refurbishment. In addition, CTI applies its extensive knowledge of design and manufacturing methods to related applications in the entertainment industry and new technology assessment.
Aerobus International, Inc. cable system (project oversight and bogie design) Dade County Metrozoo (turnkey guideway and maintenance facility design, fabrication and installation.
Personal project highlights included the identification of system commissioning issues and the corrective action leading to a successful Phase I system opening.
Provided the American implementation of German-developed magnetic levitation technology. Responsibilities included assembling a design team which absorbed the existing German technology, developed design and construction specification, coordinated with city agencies, developed procurement, fabrication and construction contracts and managed guideway fabrication. Personal project highlights included surpassing the performance of the original technology and completing fabrication and construction contracts on schedule.
Managed system engineering for: guideway, maintenance and control facility and principal subsystems as required to facilitate routine operations, failure management and system maintainability (Detroit Down People Mover (DDPM). Directed the development of all operating and maintenance policies, plans, manuals and procedures. Accomplished overall mobilization, including recruiting/training staff, maintenance service contracts, spares and support equipment procurement. Staffed start-up testing and performed system retrofits and upgrades, developed ongoing staff proficiency improvement and certification programs.
Accomplished overall system design and procurement including elevated guideway manufacture and erection, power distribution system supply and installation and passenger vehicle integration.
Developed guideway structure and power distribution system design. Directed the conceptual and detail design of the maintenance facility and passenger boarding stations, accomplished integration testing and certification of guideway structure, passenger vehicle and support equipment. Accomplished system start-up.
Analyzed total system configuration and developed design revision, which produced excellent winter, weather operational characteristics (patented). Designed and demonstrated unique features applicable to operation of automated people movers. Requested and received a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation (UMTA) for the demonstration of all weather performance of automated people mover systems. Accomplished system start-up.
Responsible for initial revenue service of the most technically sophisticated Automated People Mover system in the world (Morgantown Personal Rapid Transit (MPRT)). Achievements included the systematic identification and resolution of vehicle and wayside deficiencies. Developed budgets, policies, failure management and emergency response procedures and specialty equipment. Implemented an in-house staff training program, which resulted in a high level of diagnostic capability from 77 to 99 percent in less than two years. Established a Lesson Learned file for use in the development of vehicle and wayside changes associated with the system expansion.
Identified, coordinated and resolved vehicle and wayside problems in the prototype design. Developed troubleshooting and test techniques for prototype guideway heating, inductive communication, power distribution equipment and automated train control systems. Designed a new vehicle steering, system which resolved a fatal operating flaw.
Accomplished conceptual and detail design: Saturn V Launch Vehicle, Supersonic Transport, 747 Transport, Lunar Landing Module Spacecraft, Lunar Roving Vehicle Spacecraft, Minuteman Missile System and the Mariner-Venus-Mercury Spacecraft. Achieved a high degree of success by resolving problems and producing effective designs on schedule. |
